The ProNET-10 system is a 10 Mbps, token-passing ring local-area network.The p1503 VME interface, in combination with the p5204 device driver,provides extremely high-performance networking for SPARC-basedworkstation systems. Features include:

High-speed networking (10 Mbps).
10-Mbps network throughput.
10-Mbps host interface throughput.
Media independence: Twinax, optical fiber, or broadband.
Optional integrated fiber-optic adapters on the p1503 board.
Compatibility with existing TCP/IP software.

The p1503 interface provides a true full-duplex ProNET-10 controller forthe VMEbus, with dual-ported memory and an auxiliary DMA controller. Thereceive packet buffer can receive up to 8 KB of back-to-back packets.
